MEEPA Event – Knowing the Rights of Women in the Workplace
In honour of International Women’s Day, MEEPA will be planning an event on Thursday, March 22nd from 8:30 to noon on “Knowing the Rights of Women in the Workplace.” The morning will be hosted by Manitoba Hydro at Hydro Place (360 Portage Ave).
The #Metoo and #TimesUp movements have recently brought increased attention to the prevalence of harassment in the workplace. Come to hear the keynote presentation by Isha Khan, Acting Executive Director and Counsel for the Manitoba Human Rights Commission, on “Knowing the Rights of Women in the Workplace.” The presentation will provide information about the latest human rights cases relating to women and discuss sexual harassment in the workplace.
What is the most (and least) woman-friendly city in Canada? How does Winnipeg rank? Making Women Count is an exciting project from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) that provides a snapshot of the gaps in men’s and women’s access to economic security, personal security, education, health, and positions of leadership in communities across the country.
Spots are limited so please register today for the event. We are looking forward to seeing you at the March 22nd MEEPA event!
